Subject: ATACMS for Taiwan?
YelliChink    12/28/2010 11:54:39 AM
http://defense-update.com/wp/20101224_atacms.html On December 20, 2010 the Pentagon awarded Lockheed Martin an order worth over $916 million, for the delivery of 226 ‘tactical missiles’ and 24 launcher modification kits, plus logistical support to be delivered under Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the UAE and Taiwan. The intentions of Taiwan to acquire ATACMS (or MLRS for this matter) were never publicized, and the country don’t have MLRS, GMLRS or HIMARS in its inventory, which could require modification for the U.S. missile, therefore the actual identity of these missiles or their delivery to Taiwan is still a mystery… =========== Why are we buying ATACMS for? Our existing systems can do that just as good.
