What's the closing speed of a Patriot?  Someone really gonna make sure it's a hostile threat before the Patriot goes 'Boom'?  Not likely.  THis is for political damage control...something the Israelis are in constant need of.

Camera is on the ground, not in the Patriot. 
 
They will confirm the target before launch, then confirm that the target was what was hit.
