Subject: Isn't it a grave injustice by comparying us with the pakis?

India is one of the largest democracies in the world and her economy is one of the fastest growing in the world. We have a stable system [with regard to our constitution] in place ,our military is considerd to be one of the best in the world both in terms of our strategy planning and discipline. And in my view BY COMPARING INDIA with an unstable society like that of pakistan a grave injustice is being dealt with India.India is miles ahead of pakistan both in terms of military and her society. While Indian military is forward looking and gives more importance to attaining self sufficiency ,pakistan still lives in the past looking to attain short term goals ,copying ideas, trying to find atleast one area in which they are superior.Such a comparison is stupid ,where lies India which is soon to become a superpower and where lies pakistan which will soon become a "failed state".

I'd work with India any day and have for some years now.

Pakistan...  Well, the ISI has the nation in its grip and that makes for bad blood overall.  I see Pakistan as a Chinese proxy and do not trust them period.

China would prefer to work with both.  But Pakistan is our ally and friend.

As for comparisons, why compare at all?  A nation doesn't need to see others as inferior to feel better about themselves.  And this holds true for the U.S, China, India, and Pakistan.

Well like it or not, Pakistan IS the biggest problem of India. So we can't ignore them wether they are in the 1100AD or 500BC.

Let's edit that propaganda for truth shall we?

We PRCS would prefer to CONQUER  both.  But Pakistan is our STOOGE and PUPPET  so we prefer her to India.

As for comparisons, why should we compare at all[since it tends to let everyone see who the bandits: we; the PRCs, and the failed states: our stooges; the Pakistanis, truly are]?  A bandit nation, or a stooge nation doesn't want others [the US and India]  to see it as inferior to themselves. It makes us bandits and stooges feel bad and publicly humiliates us..

Bandits and their stooges are so childishly simple.

This is a point that you make over and over again.  I'm interested in understanding why India cannot manage to co-opt Pakistan over the years?

Firstly there is no question that India has a major advantage over Pakistan in terms of demographic, geographical and economic size.  And clearly as history has shown, Pakistan, while Islamic, has generally had relatively moderate secular leaderships in place.  As such, if you haven't noticed, mutually beneficial relationships have been reached between Pakistan and China and also with the U.S.  Of course the U.S wants to make both Pakistan and India vassals, but that is besides the argument.  The point here is that two culturally/geographically/politically very different polities have managed to co-opt Pakistan into our respective spheres of interest.  Now India is much closer linguistically(Urdu vs Hindi?) and culturally to Pakistan than either China or the Americans, why can't India reach a similar understanding with Pakistan?

First I would like to ask what relevence India's major advantages have in the essentially host-parasitic relationship Pakistan has with India? Has it ever mattered that the host is always bigger than than the parasite? Once contact is established, its only a matter of time before the parasite exploits a momentary weakness in your immune/defense system.

Who are you kidding about Pakistanis being either moderate or secular? If anything things have gotten worse over the years: Jinnah, Pakistan's founder, was a Shia but now they are lynching Shias right in broad daylight; initially most of the officers were Anglicized and forced to keep their prejudices under wraps, after Gen. Zia ul Haq promotions come easier to officers familiar with Quran than combat; for centuries Indian Muslims said good-bye with the Persian "Khuda-Hafiz", now the Pakis have Wahhabized it to "Allah-Hafiz" and look at you funny if you say it the traditional way.
What general public Americans and Chinese deal with are weakened, controlled doses of Pakistan - as harmless as modern innoculations; of course the intelligence agencies deal with small samples of the much nastier versions they use as basically bio-weapons. What kind of strain do you think India will come in contact with if it tries to coopt Pakistan?
You are right in saying that many Indians and Pakistanis are linguistically and culturally quite close. Most Indians who can speak Hindi can understand 60-75% of spoken Pakistani Urdu; of course all Indian Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi speakers can understand their counterparts. However it is precisely because Indians can understand them that they cannot arrive at an understanding. Isn't there something in Chinese to the effect that its easier to suffer an obnoxious foreign fool than a native one?
