Am I the only one wondering why SeaFox cannot simply attach a limpet mine to the target, which detonates after SeaFox is out of range?

While I searched to get some data on cost, I couldn't find any. However, in most articles, on the Sea Fox, it hypes the low cost of the vehicle. There are several other sophisticated mine hunting UUVs currently in operation as well. So my guess is this 'is' a low cost UUV 'limpet mine', to be used for the purpose of finding and destroying enemy mines.

It is a lot harder to do than you think.
1.  Monocular vision, so no depth perception. So you need to add more sensors at adequate separation.
2.  Limited maneuverability, hard to get and stay in position to place the limpet mine. So you need to add more thrusters, and more power to run them.
3.  No manipulator, to place the limpet mine, which has to be flat against the target. So you add one, which is large complex, and has many motors.
This is no longer a small, cheap, modified 16” torpedo, but a very expensive, multi-ton, remotely operated vehicle. Which I should add will probably take at least ½ hour to place the limpet mine based on current offshore technology performance.

SeaFox operation, on the other hand, probably works like this:
Line up the target in the center of the screen
Arm the warhead
Advance on the target while keeping it centered in the screen until the nose fuse makes contact and fires the warhead.
It’s a lot simpler and cheaper.
