Ranger    7/12/2005 4:12:54 PM
I live on the Mexican border with the US, and have heard of Guatemalan Kaibil are in Mexico. I had the chance to work with them (Kaibil) in the mid 1980's. I hope it is a military training exchange and not some Kaibil deserters working for some drug dealing thugs...anyone know of news on this..?

Do you know where I could get good info/history about the Kaibil? I also heard that the g.a.f.e. training is as good as US Rangers

i have seen many pages about the kaibil, altought most of them are against it claiming that the training is brutal and dehumanizing, try the guatemalan goverment page, they seem to have the most accurate info about the kaibil. as for the gafe the training is broken down into phases just as ranger training,i"ve haven"t been lucky enough too attend ranger training but when i went trough the g.a.f.e. training i heard from the senior officers that it was a lot like it,the main goal being an effective combat unit in every enviroment.once the basic 6 month sf. course is being complete and you have been assigned to a battallion.you will undergo more specialized training acording to your unit needs

Did you find information about the Kaibil?   What would you like to know?  I can answer some questions or you may contact Dr. Hugh Coffee for info about the KAIBIL.

No, I do  not have an e-mail for Doc Coffee.   He wrote a book, "Ditch Medicine" you may find him through the book.   Also, google,  Lee Garner and ask Lee for info.  He was there with me.

Is Capt Rodriguez still in El Infierno?   He's probably a Major or better by now.  He was taller and light brown hair.    I want to come back there to TEACH some material to them.    Give me something to think back on...    How is Major Roy Villanova?  Retired?
