This was too awesome. What makes it even better is they managed to use one of the older Mars Orbiters to snap a picture of it in the process of landing. You can see the shoot deploying and the Phoenix underneath the canopy.

Congrats to the folks at NASA and those with JPL and the others involved with this. Truly an insanely difficult operation that performed flawlessly. Great science, excellent achievement, job very well done.
