Subject: Clinton alludes to 1995 bombing, says words matter - (What about the Rodney King beating?)

Clinton alludes to 1995 bombing, says words matter One of the main reasons I don't like liberals is they are such rank cowards. He is quoted here - "'By all means keep fighting, by all means, keep arguing,' he said. 'But remember, words have consequences as much as actions do, and what we advocate, commensurate with our position and responsibility, we have to take responsibility for. We owe that to Oklahoma City.'" He is obviously seeking to talk out of both sides of his mouth here by accusing people of inciting violence while doing it in a way that affords him deniability. He is afraid to come out and just say what he means. What a rank coward! One might also ask him about the "Vast right wing conspiracy" allegation. However, I would more like to know why he and other liberals never got around to placing responsibility for the L.A. riots and the other riots of the same time on TV networks which repeated to excess their showing of the Rodney King beating. But then liberals are one-way if anything.

Bill fails to understand that actions have consequences.  The disaster at Waco and the killings by the FBI of a woman and child at Ruby Ridge set off McVeigh and Nichols.  Nothing can condone what these two nuts did, but was Bill thinking of the actions of his own law enforcement officials, or simply what a few citizens meeting in town squares protesting excessive taxes might cause?

Nothing will come of the rhetoric of the tea party - unless the government surrounds their meetings with storm troopers who accidently let off a few rounds that kill some innocents.

Oops, have to give the FBI a break for once as the ATF and Federal Marshals were involved with the actions described.

I heard that Gen. Wesley Clark and the Army helped out with the seige at Waco.

The thought that I had at the time was that the federal government was going out of its way at Waco to make an example of the Branch Davidians in order to intimidate those whom they considered excessively religious or defiantly libertarian.

The news media mouthpieces of the big government types in Washington were showing signs of being obsessed with gun toting religious separatists at the time.

Now we have a president who is waging a scorched earth campaign against the private sector apparently to economically marginalize this nation's opponents of liberalism.
I see this in the government bailout legislation which Obama dishonestly calls stimulus since he and Congress are using it to provide for the economic security of the government class at the expense of the people who create the nation's wealth through work.

I give Bill a bit of a pass on Waco.  David Koresh was not just some libertarian that Janet Reno decided to make an example of; he was a lunatic who opened fire on ATF agents who were serving a legitimate warrant.  He probably could've solved that problem with some fines and a bit of jail time (which probably would've been deferred), but instead decided to indulge a messianic complex and get a ton of people, many of them innocent children, killed.

Did Reno botch the job? Definitely--even she admitted that.  Could it have been handled differently and better? Absolutely--the FBI dealing with the Freemen in my home state showed how to end a siege peacefully in accordance with the law (and the Freemen were no less heavily armed than the Branch Davidians).  However, I get sick of the eyewash that Koresh was just some harmless limited-government man.  He was Jim-Jones drink-the-koolaid crazy.  Reno fubared Waco up, no question, but Koresh didn't help.

And Waco "causing" Oklahoma City?  Let's not legitimize a terrorist.  Janet Reno no more "caused" OKC any more than Bush "caused" 9/11.  McVeigh was a mass-murdering son of a bitch, and deserved far worse than he got.  However stupid Reno may be and a lying snake Clinton might be, they did not kill those people in OKC.  McVeigh and Nichols did.  We don't tolerate Truthers at SP; neither should we tolerate McVeigh apologists.

Where Clinton is being a lying jerk is by trying to equate the tea parties (which have gone out of their way to be peaceful) with the McVeighs and the Freemen of the world.  Where he's being a lying jerk is ignoring all the death threats, intimidation, and general anarchy the Left is guilty of.  You want to mention the fringe nuts of the tea party, Billy, you need to mention the Ayres and the Ward Churchills who thought 9/11 was a great idea and only wish they'd thought of it before Osama.

Geez.  To think that I voted for Clinton once.  Man, I didn't smoke pot in college, but I must've been on something...
