Subject: Obama 2012 Campaign Strategy
YelliChink    8/22/2011 11:49:27 AM
It's about time to think about it, since President Obama already started his 2012 campaign for quite a few months.

We've seen Obama shoot himself in the mouth talking about recalibrating his statements and in other ways. The Republicans wind up being judged by a stricter standard. The public lets the media get away with it.

But the Republicans would overcome that barrier if they in a state of moral bankruptcy.

The two parties are really dependent on each other for job security and it's showing.

The Republicans depend on the Democrats to make messes such as Obama's damaging our economy. Coming in and cleaning up behind the Dems is the GOP's raison d'etre. The GOP winds up getting the Dems off the mismanagement hook with the voter so that they become acceptable enough get back in by making extravagant promises.

The voters' continuing desire to get something for nothing keeps the whole process going (Notice the current arguments to the effect that when women are not being given free contraceptives this is the same as denying them access to the same).

The Republicans are always worrying out loud about "social issues" distracting everyone from the core fiscal or national security issues that are always needing to be addressed. Those core national security or fiscal issues always seem to be there because of this unhealthy relationship between the two parties. Without them, the GOP is totally lost.

It's a scam. The GOP is really an appendage of the Democrat Party by virtue of this interdependence. Ours is, in effect, a one party state with two parts of the ruling party posing as two separate ones.

If there were a "third party", that might actually give us the effect of having a real two party system. Such will not be permitted though.

The real key to getting control of our fiscal situation lies in honestly dealing with those social issues the GOP are always excusing themselves from addressing.

And all this is why I would not at all be enthusiastic about Romney even if he did not so stigmatize himself with the appearance of being totally dependent on negative ads for his political survival. He is a complete creature of this interdependence.

The GOP is morally bankrupt and is only viable because Obama is in the White House. They need Obama. They will never willingly free us form big government.

Doesn't Obama have a rep for fixing the outcomes of electoral contests in ways that circumvent the will of the voters?

In addition to poltical races, there is at least the apparent suspicious circumstance surrounding Justice John Roberts' Obamacare decision since Obama both has this reputation and had made what could be seen as veiled threats concerning the court.

So one might wonder whether there will be suspicious circumstances surrounding the 2012 election in November.

Holder and the USDOJ seem almost bent on enabling voting fraud  in states where there have been an influx of illegal and legal Hispanic immigrants.

I wonder also whether there might be surprises coming from the electoral college system... after the popular vote has been cast. Of course a few Obama votes by electors pledged to Romney might not matter unless the Electoral College totals would be close I guess.

Some states have laws penalizing electors for switching votes but it seems that the constitutionality of those laws is arguable.

Anyway, we could wind up with another election mess which will wind up being decided in the courts where the liberals have traditionally had better chances.

Only another example of how "diverse" our nation has become.  In political correct terms "diverse" is suppose to be what is best about America.

In reality, diverse is the thin veneer that coats a highly divisive  culture.  Whether it is gun control, abortion, gay rights, national healthcare, or taxes...most Americans are firmly fixed in their entrenched positions.

President Obama is the poster boy for for the facade of diversity in America.  And Romney (where wealth trumps his religious cult) is positioned on the other side of the schism of American politics.

Given the ever growing demographics of those likely to vote Democrat, the math doesn't add up favorably for Romney (with the breeding habits of Mormans as the only exception).  Therefore, given the results of the 2004 Florida decision, one can argue CJH's point just as good as being an advantage for Romney rather than Obama.

The veneer is cracking...roughly half of America is going to be even more split from the other half after the election.

CJH    Rove - "The Obama Ad Blitz Isn't Working"   8/4/2012 4:01:31 PM

"Mr. Obama's strategists know they won in 2008 in large part by outspending their opponents in the primaries and general election. They've tried that with Mr. Romney the last three months, and so far it isn't working. Still, just this week, according to public records, Team Obama has bought an additional $32 million in ads in nine battleground states for August.

Unanswered television ads do move poll numbers, as was the case in 2008. But these Obama ads won't go unanswered.

The response by the Romney campaign and Romney supporters will be amplified by the reality of a painfully weak economy, growing debt and unpopular ObamaCare. More fundraisers will not solve that problem, but they will create opportunities for a weary candidate to make more revealing and damaging statements."

It griCan Romney Win? – Analysis

article...

"However this election goes, the Republican party needs to rethink the direction it has been taking. If defeating an incumbent as wounded as Obama is so difficult, there is something seriously wrong with the Republican message and not just Romney. Indeed, it might possibly be better for the future health of the party if the Romney lost the election because that could become a catalyst for such introspection."

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I know the opinion is that a 2nd Obama win means the end of America as we know it.

But my opinion is that we have already passed that point. Obama can't kill what is already dead.

And the GOP does not show evidence it has any sense of political and social reality. In that case what good can it possibly be to us as a governing party?

Well, Romney has basically screwed himself in several different ways, don't blame MSM "liberal bias" for him declaring 47% of the electorate as irrelevant (ignoring the fact that many are retirees, veterans and the >60% thereof who still pay payroll tax (i.e. work on low incomes)). That mistake placed him as out of touch, elitist, aloof, and basically played into everything the Obama campaign has relentlessly portrayed him as from the very early blast of attack-ads. That mistake alone might lose him the election and there's no one else to blame but his almost sociopathic lack of ability to relate to people with his robotic, non-emotive persona, the idea that he says one thing in public and another to wealth donors in private is nothing short of disastrous.

But even if that gaffe hadn't happened, somehow Romney's campaign manager hasn't advised him to focus on himself, it's been proven again and again that you don't make your rival the centre of your message, especially against an incumbent - only this late in the campaign is he beginning to focus again on his own plan and starting to focus (as he should have done from the beginning) solely on the economy. It's possible for him to turn it around but IMV extremely unlikely at this point.

Romney's personality is so.. alien (for want of a better word) that it's hard to "like him", I think that alone is costing him quite a big share of the vote despite the fact that he is undoubtedly a shrewd and capable politician. He urgently needs to somehow show that he can relate to the people that he currently appears wooden and awkward around. The debates might help him but traditionally they make little difference given the scant room within that format for actual person-to-person dialogue.

Certainly some surprisingly developments over the last week - will be very interesting to see how the 2nd and 3rd debates affect Romney's bounce, betting odds still seem loaded on Obama but perhaps not the whitewash we were led to expect.

"The America-bashing strongman made the announcement on state-owned television, saying “Obama is a good guy” and that if Obama was from Caracas, he’d surely return the favor by voting for Chavez."

"Earlier in the year the government-official daughter of Cuban military dictator Raul Castro proclaimed her country’s support for Obama during a visit to the U.S. “I believe that Obama needs another opportunity and he needs greater support to move forward with his projects and with his ideas, which I believe come from the bottom of his heart,” Mariela Castro said during a cable news interview. ..."
<p>
"In a letter to a major newspaper, the president of a group dedicated to expanding freedom around the world points out that under Putin there has been an “across-the-board crackdown on civil society.” The piece goes on to ask: “Will Obama stand up against Putin’s abuses?” Unlikely, now that the Russian dictator has extended his endorsement."

CJH    Why Dems Oppose Voter Fraud Legislation   10/29/2012 12:09:47 PM
VA Dem. Congressman Jim Moran's son arranging for fraudulent votes for his father.

I am still amazed any adult could vote for Obama, Moran or anyone else who has their insultingly low opinion of the American people.
