Subject: Please answer this survey.

I have posted this messsage in several other discussion boards. I am completely fed up with hypocritical, narrow-minded or just plainly naive American nationalists who keep accusing other countries of this or that, without having the slightest intellectual honesty to recognize the crimes of their country. In order to restrain your unfettered jingoism (I am talking to the above-mentioned persons, not about every American here), I am organizing a survey consisting of only one question, it will take you little time. Here it is: IN YOUR OPINION, WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE COMMITTED MORE CRIMES THAN THE USA DURING THE PERIOD FROM WWII (included) TO THE PRESENT? This is a clear question demanding a clear answer. Please do not beat about the bush, for example by writing back to me asking: What is your definition of "crime"? That is where this survey is interesting: everyone answers according to their own conception of what a "crime" is. Just give me the list (you need not explain your choices, we will discuss them once I have all the answers, but you can if you will). Anyone can answer, even non-Americans (but their answers will be treated separately). I do not intend to have a "representative sample" of American public opinion, just the opinions of the American visitors here. Of course, all the nationalists (they will recognize themselves) are expected to answer. A refusal from them to participate would not only show their cowardice, but also their blatant hypocrisy and their obvious lack of honesty, together with a blatant incapacity to see facts in the face (but I am already curious to see what flimsy excuses they will find to elude that quite embarrassing question). I am looking forward to receiving your answers. Malrait

OK fine, I have decided to actually your survey. It is under one condition, though. I want to see your "list" of nations that have committed more crimes than the US, Malrait. First, the justification. Government was created by the people for the sole purpose of somehow making their lives better. All governments that have knowingly and willingly allowed the quality of life of their populaion to deteriorate has committed the ultimate crime a government can commit. Thus, I rank nearly all dictatorships here, as I don't know of any benevolent ones, but I may have missed one or a few. Also, I rank all communist governments here, because again I do not know of any that have bettered the lives of their citizens, rather than indulge in corruption. There may be some governments that have committed more "crimes" as you define then than the US while not falling into either of the categories above, but I do not know of any. I am not going to bother listing all of the nations with a government falling into those categories, because it would take too long and I would inevitably miss some. Now that I, am American, and therefore a nationalist, in your mind, have answered your question, I want to see you list. I also want to watch you deny that defrauding the people that created the government and put their trust in it is not the ultimate crime.

And I forgot to mention, we are not clearing our name by comparing the US to China and the other worst nations, we are simply trying to get you to realize that the situation could be much, much worse, which is something you don't seem to want to believe.

I will provide you with my personal list, I promise, LOL. It is still unfinished as you have seen I take many data into account, and it is difficult to synthetize them all. For the "innocents' bodycount", for example, how do I count the innocents whose death the US is indirectly responsible for? Not easy... Moreover I am in Korea at the moment, so do not expect me to provide the list for the time being. But you shall have it. I am not a coward. I also see you have the nerve to put all dictatorships before the USA. Chile, for example... which would never have become a dictatorship without you!!! There is an interesting paradox here, LOL, isn't there? Malrait

Alright, I have had the situation of Chile hung over me twice now, and probably rightly so, but I admit that I do not know the details of their situation. I only have a rough understanding of what is going on, (probably because the whole story wouldn't make a good headline), so if you or somebody else could fill me in on the past and present situation Chile is in, without personal opinions please, I will probably make an exception in my list for them in my list once I know what happened there.

Anyone who has read Noam Chomsky knows that the USA has a hidden history of terrorizing the world and actively fighting against freedom and democracy by, among other things, rewarding and encouraging injustices. But the USA has not kept half of Europe in a iron grip for half a century like the USSR. The USA has not started any social reforms that killed millions like the PRC. Power corrupts and absolute power (ie. American Hyperpower) corrupts absolutely, demonstrated adequately by George W. Bush and the entire Chicken Hawk Junta that runs the USA. I would say that the USA, the USSR and the PRC as the post WWII super powers are probably on a split first place in regards to crimes against humanity. They are empires and act as such. PS: I don't hate America, the American culture or the American people. I'm just saying your government is acting insane.
