Yes and imagine how long democracy would last then in Qatar after that. After the Americans have invested billions of dollars in Qatar Gas development, Not long! America exports Democracy by dictatorship on foreign soil. Back in states it's just a plain old plutocracy. Big business dictates our political decisions in America. It seems like it always? I just wonder if it is that we all just started to notice it.

Civil unrest over what? There is nothing for anyone to complain about. The government looks after the locals very well and also has labour laws to ensure foreign labour is treated fairly by employers. You don't see anyone living on the streets and everyone (including foreigners) has access to free basic medical services. As for the US forces, they are hidden out in the desert where they have no regular contact with the locals (who, in any case, are only about one-quarter of the resident population). Cheers.
