Finland is buying 24 Amos turret systems for it's AMV (armored modular vehicle) 8x8 wheeled fighting vehicle. The AMOS is a twin barrel 120mm mortar system. The twin barrel design allows the self-propelled mortar to get out a large volume of fire before moving (to avoid counterbattery fire from a foe equipped with shell spotting radar that can quickly locate where the firing weapon is located.) The AMV is an armored vehicle which, as its name implies, can easily be equipped with a number of different turrets (each equipped with a different weapon.)
