The French Air Force is paying $25 million to upgrade its four E-3F AWACS planes to meet European air safety standards. This includes GPS navigation and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums equipment. The British upgraded their seven E-3s with GPS last year and have now started adding RVSM equipment.--Stephen V Cole
