The Air Force wants new sensors for its AC-130U gunships, which have been flying over Afghanistan every day. They want a multi-spectral system with 360-degree coverage able to better detect and identify enemy and friendly forces. The system should also be able to detect the various markers (lights, strobes, pointers, and beacons) used by special operations units to mark their positions and enemy targets.--Stephen V Cole
