The US military has been quietly briefing the European allies on the missile defense system, and already has preliminary plans to build an interceptor base somewhere in central Europe (perhaps in the Czech Republic) that could cover all NATO allies except Turkey from missile attacks by Iran, Iraq, or Russia. Because of its exposed position, covering Turkey would take a supplementary base or a squadron of Aegis ships.--Stephen V Cole
