Space: NRO Loses Touch With a Big One

January18, 2007: Two weeks ago, the U.S. NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) lost contact with a classified satellite that had been launched a month earlier. Since it was a classified bird, no details on what it could do were released. The NRO believes it still has a chance to re-establish communications and get the satellite working. If not, about half a billion dollars has just been lost.
