China is building another base opposite Taiwan for their Russian S-300 surface to air missiles. The Russian made S-300 is the Russian equivalent of the US Patriot. It has a range of up to 200 kilometers. China is also developing its own FT-2000 missile, which can attack AWACS type aircraft.
