NPA rebels destroyed a communications tower south of the capital. The owner of the tower refused to pay extortion ("revolutionary tax") to the NPA. On Jolo, the campaign against Abu Sayyaf continues, with a gun battle resulting in five rebels and one soldier dead, with another ten rebels wounded.
