Abu Sayyaf, feeling the pressure on Basilan island, announced that they have beheaded one of their American hostages. Troops caught up with some of the Abu Sayyaf, leaving two rebels dead and five soldiers wounded. The killing has not been confirmed, the rebels have bluffed about this before, but the government has announced that it will bring all Abu Sayyaf kidnappers to justice.
