The MILF has refused to withdraw it's rebels from Basilan, or at least move out of the way, while the army pursues the Abu Sayyaf. Meanwhile, Abu Sayyaf has phoned into radio shows and threatened to kill some of their hostages and attack Christian villages on Basilan if the armed forces did not stop their search for Abu Sayyaf members.
