MILF rebels continue to surrender, including a MILF brigade commander and three of his followers in Basilan. But as MILF crumbles, many, more vicious, factions arise. Some of these factions are pro al Qaeda, and often end up as allies of Southeast Asia's leading Islamic terrorist organizations; Jemaah Islamiah.
