In the southern Philippines, troops found and defused a bomb planted in a village market by members of The Pentagon gang (which is largely composed of former MILF rebels who want to get rich via kidnapping and other criminal activities). The Pentagon gang has been trying to use terrorism to scare off police and army efforts to shut the gang down. The Pentagon gang specializes in kidnapping wealthy Christian Filipinos.
