frozen water and hydrocarbons with supercooled hydrocarbons making up a thin atmosphere on the daytime side. Maybe some good pics of nearby kuiper belt objects. And a stone obelisk protruding from one of the poles ;-)

Some believe, Pluto has intelligent Type zero or Type 1 alien civilization. If that is true that be as advanced as we are or slightly more advanced. In that case they are about ready to send a probe to the earth. If they are slightly behind us, they will be capable to encounter ‘New Horizons’ probe with their own UFOs. Pluto is very different from other planets. No one really knows what out there. It will be real interesting episode in space exploration unfolding with ‘New Horizons’ going close to Pluto by 2012 and reaching Pluto by 2015.

If there were life there of such intelligence, we would have picked up their radio transmissions by now.

Been watching "Godzilla vs Monster X"? It's a frozen rock, the more interesting body is a floater slightly bigger than our moon, but that is also a frozen rock. The alternative heat source for distant bodies like the moons of the gas giants are the gas giants' magnetic fields imparting energy to the interior of the moons, creating volcanic yet warm conditions just below the surface. Europa and Titan are our best bets inside of our solar system for anything larger than bacterias, molds or fungi. If you want to get way out there, if Pluto or planet X had a certain level of radioactivity then there could be enough warmth for life to be generated. But it would need the radiation to live, and probably not very approachable by us. Can't get around the need for heat in chemical reactions.
