simple- the new ones would be of the bunker buster type. picture this situation.- we are having major trouble with a foreign power say a NK or iraq 10 years from now when they have icbs and nukes. we need to remove the nuke treat quick but they are in hardened cylose(sp. assume they are to hard for traditional busters. stealth bombers go in and hit all 10-15 sites with nuke bunker busters. then we launch our conventional strike.

Fuel Air Explosives is the American term. I believe the Soviets were the first apply this FAE technology in combat against hordes of Chinese soldiers in their 60s border skirmishs with devastating effect.
