Subject: Why does Bush want to build more small tactical Nukes?

It does not make sense. Fuel Air Explosives have the same bang as a small nuclear device at 300 to 400 lbs ground psi without the radiation. What is the real agenda? Even Teddy Roosevelt would not have threatened with that Big Stick.

simple- the new ones would be of the bunker buster type. picture this situation.- we are having major trouble with a foreign power say a NK or iraq 10 years from now when they have icbs and nukes. we need to remove the nuke treat quick but they are in hardened cylose(sp. assume they are to hard for traditional busters. stealth bombers go in and hit all 10-15 sites with nuke bunker busters. then we launch our conventional strike.

See Re: Thermobaric weapons on the Strategic Nuclear board. I came to this conclusion after reading the thread on these FAE weapons. The term thermobaric is derived from Soviet R&D. Fuel Air Explosives is the American term. I believe the Soviets were the first apply this FAE technology in combat against hordes of Chinese soldiers in their 60s border skirmishs with devastating effect.
