The daily mail today published an article concerning BAE system progress in regards to developing a new highly advanced liquid body armour piece presumably to be fielded when the FIST project is rolled out across the army
Take a look and see what you think:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1346877/Bullet-proof-custard-British-soldiers-wearing-revolutionary-new-liquid-body-armour-years.html
Now there are several flaws in the article, as one it states that it is new. however i am not sure as to whether in saying this they are stating to the concept of liquid armour as if they were in this case they would be wrong as the concept of liquid armour has been thrown around for a number of years, or alternatively they were referring to this particular design by BAE systems as being new, in which case they would be right.
It claims that the substance is top secret; to me this implies that it is a newly developed version of previous liquid armour concepts and being newly developed this could also be taken as it may be even more advanced than previous designs, thus making worthy of such secret status, it may even be revolutionary? The article seemingly implies that this new armour is superior to previous armour designs/concepts, would there be any truth in this implication?, they provide no facts to support such a claim but may this piece of armour actually be more effective than previous liquid armour designs?, has Britain finally produced something world beating again?
Your thoughts on the article if you please? does this piece of armour seem any different to previous designs?, I know there isn’t all too much to go on but if any comments could be made it would be interesting to see what you all think on the matter, perhaps you can even shed a little more light on the particular subject.
