I think we are in for a bumpy few years and there will certainly be conflicts outside of the ones already currently underway, however I dont believe the current economic situation will be the direct cause.

There is not much of a reason for war between the major powers, but since they are all focused on shoring up their domestic economies, there may not be much money for development aid in really poor countries who are also usually starving and thirsty,  and if you are starving and thirsty there is little reason not to go to war for your survival.

The current economic crises has as of yet not shown that it is enough of one to drive people into extremism. The Depression hit a far more brittle system, and the extremism of the times was as much a result of failure of the political system as failure of the economic system. As someone or other said, men do not become dictators to keep warm.
