Necromancer    4/16/2009 7:26:46 PM
Perhaps the only major country with a trade surplus , huge cash reserves and great manufacturing infrastructure to build a 1000 ship navy at a whim has one serious weakness- Technology- Chinese espionage globally is at an unprecedented level- would u agree when Chinaessentially steals the F-22 its the final stepping stone to taking the worst job in the world - Globo superpower#1.

I'm not as optimistic as you are on our navy.

We simply don't have enough ships, and certainly don't have good enough ships, especially subs.

Stealing technology is vastly overrated.  You cannot just steal a piece of technology or a product, you have to steal every piece of the technologies that you do not have that is needed to make that piece of technology, and the pieces of technology that make them, and the pieces ... et cetera, ad nauseam.  And the real problem is that you may not even know what some of the other technologies you need are.

For example, China has been trying to "steal" a Russian jet engine design for over 20 years, but still cannot get it right.

Do you somehow fail to realize that the first post in the thread you made is a prime example of epic failure?

2065?

Think of all the great things they could do with those stolen F-22s in 2065. A scrap metal sea fortress would be very effective against the mongolian navy.

Tisk - resorting to profanity?  You need to check your SP rules to live by - this is a violation and if SP catches it - you could be history.
As for Necro (aka HtJ) posting - par for the course for someone who thinks that 2012 is the end of the world.  Necro you really need to work on your "what if" postings to make them plausable or at least debate worthy.

That was a quote from Necromancer but due to the buggy HTML my response didn't show up. Someone apparently deleted the original Necromancer post.

SYSOP, happy to confirm this.  I'm assuming that someone in the collective pulled it as part of housekeeping and sanity checking

AN was responding on a quote and didn't initiate with the reproductive invective.
