ambush    9/7/2009 10:00:09 AM
Up until today I figure the US was declining faster as a nation in charge of its own destiny than the UK then I saw this: "Scouts to no longer bring penknives on camping trips" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/6145785/Scouts-to-no-longer-bring-penknives-on-camping-trips.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/6145785/Scouts-to-no-longer-bring-penknives-on-camping-trips.html>Link How can such a nanny state hope to produce the warrirors it needs for its defense?

The US indeed screwed up. Had I been an enemy I would be all over this opportunity. But the alleged enemeies or adversaries or trade rivals of the US are fumbling- Japan , China, Russia, Germany have no clue how to deal with US arrogance or spending or junk bonds or printing of dollars. So the US may have have fumbled but the enemies did not convert the fumble . Ce la vie. 100 more years US still #1.

Fianl attempt for some reason  it isnot taking my reply.

Boy Scouts have been carrying knivfs for over hundred years and there has been no resulting carnage among their ranks.  You NEED a knife to go camping.  Heck a man or boy should have one just for everyday life. It is a tool not a weapon.

#1 Weapnry does you no good without the warrirors to use it. We are producing obese, bubble wrapped snowflakes not warriors.

"Dave Budd, a knife-maker who runs courses training Scouts about the safe use of blades, wrote that the growing problem of knife crime meant action had to be taken."

Everything is done to appear to solve the problem of violent crime, except actually incarcerating violent criminals.

Same as in the Netherlands where every measure is taken against crime, except upholding the law and actually punishing criminals. The process goes like:

You have a community that's safe enough for to leave their front doors unlocked.
- Burglaries start to happen and instead of incarcerating the known burglar a public campaign is started to make everyone lock their front door.
Now you have a community that keeps their front doors locked.
- Burglaries start to happen and instead of incarcerating the known burglar a public campaign is started to make everyone lock all their doors and windows.
Now you have a community that keeps all their doors and windows locked.
- Burglaries start to happen and instead of incarcerating the known burglar a public campaign is started to make everyone add additional locks on all their doors and windows.
Now you have a community that keeps all their heavily re-enforced doors and windows locked.
- Burglars gain entrance by ringing the front door and putting a gun to the homeowner's head and instead of incarcerating the known burglars a public campaign is started to make everyone add an additional spy hole in their door.
Now you have a community that keeps all their heavily bullet proof doors and windows locked and when someone rings the doorbell they look through the spy hole before opening.
Etc, etc, etc.

The former burglars now hide outside waiting for the homeowners to emerge and ambush them.

So now the police install security cameras everywhere.

Cameras get sabotaged,

The police know the criminals have to fence their goods, so they establish a telecommunications monitoring system watching for crime-related key words...

Waitasec? How did we end up in a police state?

I'm pretty sure that in a police state know burglars are actually incarcerated.
So it must be something different.
I tend towards ending up in a nationwide insane asylum.
