I believe a extensive bombing capaign is a completely possible option for the US. They have the quipment and arsenals and you name it, bombing Iran is not a problem and is most likely what will happen. With regards to entering Iran on the ground. I higly doubt it. The US is not stretched to the breaking point in Iraq as some medias claim. But htey are stretched. Iran has been preparing for a US attack ever since Iraq was attacked, they have been prapring and elisted masses of suicide fighters and bombers form its populance. If America goes in on the ground the casualties with be astounding, and there will be riots in infront of every governemnt building in the US (slight exaggeration there). If the US actually thinks of staying htere a while or toppling the Iranian gov like htey did Iraq....oh boy, it will not be pretty. So i maintain that the US is most likely to bomb Iran to bits from the air. something they can easily (and relatively safely) do.
