Just when you think you've seen everything from those wacky Iranians, they manage to come up with something more zainy than the last!  It's good to know they are always around for us to turn to if we are looking for a laugh.

These are actually WIG - Wing In Ground effect vehicles, and they look like they're a copy of a commercial light model.

Definitely faster than a Borghammer and as they operate just above wave height, they will be a bit less obvious on radar than an aircraft... On the other hand, they look flimsy and probably carry a really light load.. like a couple of RPGs, and that loud two-stroke engine is just laughable... a good .50 cal gunner wouldn't have any issues..

Its likely manufactured by a company owned by one of the mullahs...only reason you'd think they would buy it for the military.

Didn't the Soviets have these ages ago... Designed for the Caspian and Black Seas...

As for Stealth... that is Iranian code for  "built from plywood"

Yep, and I suspect we both may have seen the same picture back then . . .

Which could actually work, if they use only glue and no nails.

Actually, the Soviets pioneered heavy WIG technology.. they even had a Lun-class Ekranoplan carrying 6 Sunburn supersonic ASMs.. comparing them to these Iranian single seaters is like comparing a Piper Cub to a C-17... ;)

Building them from plywood for reduced radar cross-section? Sounds reasonable.
Mounting an exposed two-stroke engine with a nice large square radiator as the craft's highest point? Hilarious..

BTW, some of the reports I've read "says the domestically made craft can be used for surveillance and can carry guns and transmit data."

In other words, the single pilot is armed with an AK, uses NVGs or binoculars and probably has to use his own mobile phone to report back to base ;)
