Democrats and wobbly Republicans have suggested that the solution to the Iraq war is to negotiate with Iran and Syria. Well, there's no point in negotiating with Syria, which is little more than an Iranian puppet regime. But let's look at the possiblity of negotiating with Iran, the world nexus for terrorism...
Negotiation is a compromise, a side gets some of what it wants by giving the other side some of what it wants. So let's look at how that might work between the US and Iran.
The US wants: security for ourselves and allies.
Iran wants: to destroy America and our allies (As Iran has often and openly stated).
So in exchange for the US getting security, we would let Iran destroy part of America (or some of our allies).
My question for discussion is: what part of America, or which allies should we let Iran destroy?
For the sake of kicking off the discussion, I'm going to suggest Boston, San Fransisco, and France.
