Subject: Obama Won't Answer Holocaust Question

Debbie Schlussel: ABC News' Jake Tapper: Obama Won't Answer Holocaust Question ByDebbie Schlussel On the heels of John McCain's strong statement to Israel and the Jews that he would "not allow a second Holocaust" to happen, Barack Hussein Obama was asked whether he'd prevent a second Holocaust by reporters during his trip to Israel. The setting for the question is notable. It was just before he made a photo op visit to "Yad VaShem," the Holocaust museum in Israel. What is also notable was Obama's "response" and how it was "covered" by the Mainstream media. While the Wall Street Journal's Jay Solomon and Cam Simpson noted the question, they did not note the response. Why not? Well, ABC News' Jake Tapper did, and it's telling and frightening (thanks to my friends Sean and Frank at WCBM for the tip): Yarmulke-wearing fraud Obama Won't Say No to Holocaust Upon arrival at Yad Vashem, Obama was greeted by Avner Shalev, chairman of Yad Vashem. An Israeli journalist called out to Obama: "Can you ensure that there will be no second Holocaust?" Obama walked into the museum's main building without responding.. . . In the "Hall of Remembrance," Obama put on a white yarmulke, lit the "eternal flame" and placed a white chrysanthemum wreath on a stone slab. Obama then went to the museum's Janusz Korczak Plaza, where he signed the guest book. Jake Tapper goes on to quote Obama's BS speech about how terrible he feels about the Holocaust. Blah, blah, blah. Then, this: Once again an Israeli journalist asked the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee how he'd help prevent a second Holocaust. "Senator can you assure Israel that there will be no second Holocaust despite Iran's threat to wipe us off the map?" he asked. Obama demurred, saying that it wasn't appropriate to answer the question there. "This is Yad Vashem!" the journalist responded. Obama said he would answer the question at a later press availability. And, of course, Obama never answered the question. Disgusting. The question is a no-brainer. If you don't have an automatic, "I will assure that there won't be a second Holocaust," response, then you don't deserve to occupy a square foot of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. John McCain initiated the conversation about a second Holocaust, brining it up himself and saying he'll assure it won't happen. Barack Obama had to be asked, and he still couldn't bring himself to answer. G-d help us. Hey, Barack Obama, don't put on your phony white satin yarmulke again. Sadly, we know what's inside the head it covers.

Senator Obama was here and was given the usual bullshit tour of Shderot, Yad vaShem, the Western Wall  and the Knesset. He delivered his usual show of being handsome, charismatic and articulate. He didn't talk to any of his constituents here AFAIK. After all, most of them are of the "despicable settler" variety, and the Candidate could not possibly be seen consorting with such people for fear of alienating his left-wing core constituency.
He did not have any reason to try and make an impression on ordinary Israelis, nor did we expect him to. So he came and went and that's that.
The raucous Holocaust question was unfair and out of place. I would surmise that BHO responded honestly by not answering. Fact is, nobody, and certainly not ourselves, ever raised as much as a (middle) finger to prevent a genocide. At the most, nations sometimes, but not always, intervene to stop one while it is well  under way. We can't continue expecting the US to protect us from genocide, since if they ever had such an intention they would have acted already, and they've done a lot and spent a lot of their own money on various items of equipment to help us protect ourselves anyway. We barely registered what happened to the Tutsis of Rwanda (who were saved by G. Almighty and their own fighters only), and can't be bothered to even give a thought to what is currently happening to the Furs in al-Sudan, even as a few of these desperate people infiltrate our southern border under a hail of Egyptian bullets, so we should not make  demands on anyone but ourselves and the aforementioned G. Almighty.

A Holocaust is genocide, genocide goes against international and humanitarian law in every possible way. While the western world has time and again failed to stop and prevent many genocides from taking place, (and to be fair it is not just our incompetence though that is inexcusable,) any implications of a genocidal attack on Israel, who we consider one of our own, will bring the full weight of these laws upon the perpetrators. Whether he likes it or not Obama would have to act, not to would be political and geopolitical suicide.

He's a wolf in sheeps clothing....

He will barter Israel away.

One good point is that he will help the US heal its traumatic slavery history.

Shirrush,
You mentioned that B. Hussein <rhymes with Osama> didn't talk to his constituents because some of the are what you call "despicable settlers". Maybe he wished not to talk to these "despicable settlers", not because they are settlers, but because they are d

FJV    In the long term it gets weird.   7/25/2008 4:24:13 PM
In the long run a holocaust seems to be an excersize in futility, because you will never be able to take out all the Jews that are spread out all over the world. They are too dispersed and they are able to keep their identity intact whil being dispersed.

Even if Israel would be nuked, it is only a matter of time (a few centuries) before Jews from all over the world increase their number and then start moving to Israel and again start a Jewish state there.

Try again Battar. Your post got trunca

Fact is, that a plurality if not a majority of the American-Israeli double nationals are Modern Orthodox.
Even if they are not "settlers", they certainly look the part, which is probably why the media-conscious Candidate would not have liked to be filmed in their company. They are mostly awfully nice people, but voting for the Democrats has been their families' tradition for generations. I can understand that, my own family has been fiercely loyal to the Socialists, up until recently at least. I doubt the Amerikookim will haul ass to the US consulate to vote for Obama this time though. Those who are most likely to do so are the handful of proudly secular, left-wing, Spanish-speaking immigrants from Latin American, that also happen to have US citizenship, and, of course, the Arabs.

You might be wrong here.
The Diaspora is becoming extinct.
Many thousands-years old communities have been wiped out by emigration to Israel and to the West, not only in places of suffering and persecution, but also in rather nice and tolerant ones such as India and the Carribean.
In the West, namely in the Americas where Jews stand a chance of physically surviving the onslaught of Jihad for a while longer, their numbers are severely dwindling due to intermarriage and assimilation, and their culture is devolving into a wishy-washy, politically correct, liberal creed that will last as long as fashions do.
Israel is fast becoming the only Jewish place on Earth, and this makes us exceedingly vulnerable to a nuclear Holocaust.

Shirrush is describing a scenario which can easily be extrapolated from statistics of intermarriage, emigration, and assimilation, and I think that in 50 years time there will be very few countries outside Israel that have any Jewish population at all. So if Judaism does become extinct, it will be taught in history lessons along side the history of the Roman and Greek empires, and at least then it will be treated with some measure of respect (As John Lennon remarked, Everybody loves you when you're dead and gone).

Germany's population, at least in relative terms is increasing rapidly.  From only a few thousand there are now something like 200k - mostly (if not almost exclusvely) from the former Soviet Union.

Hugo,
Thats just a fancy way of saying that the Jewish population of the former Soviet union is decreasing rapidly. And is not this population assimilating in herds, and marrying the blond blue eyed aryan local beauties? The main reason I wouldn't is the thought that their grandfather might have shot down my uncles' Lancaster bomber - well he would have been my uncle if the bomber he was navigating hadn't vanished over the North Sea. Of course, the greater likelihood is that their grandfathers did much worse things, but this is personal.
