Right, so the Sikorsky X2 is a compound helicopter that builds off of their experience with the XH-59 Advancing Blade Concept.
What sort of concept do you envision with this sort of configuration?
For me, I think a Sikorsky X2 type of helicopter would probably be with two T-55 Lycoming Turbines, with 6 pylons, on stub wings. Titanium bathtub to protect the pilots, and titanium to protect all critical components. Fit an M230 chain gun, with space to take 1200 rounds. Add Longbow capability, add good avionics, and reduce the drag from all of this as much as you can.
I suppose it sounds like I want an American Hind, but to be honest it's not particularly like the Hind. |
