Subject: Which was better?

The M1857 12 pound gun howitzer or the 3 inch Ordnance Rifle? (Sorry, after the comment to Boris I couldn't help it!) My personal favorite was the Napoleon...thanks to case shot and cannister.

Lol, there is no way that either of them were more useful than the good 'ole Brown Bess (think 1742 Long Land Service Pattern with 46 inch barrel and steel ram-rod). I think I might name my first born daughter Bess, LOL!

Ah, Boris, we are discussing 2 artillery pieces of the US Civil War, not British Small Arms of the 18th Century!
