...the sound never does it justice in any of those YouTube clips, or anybody's videos.
I want that mega-awesome base thunk that rattles every bone in you (when you're as close as those people),
something when hooked up to a good 5.1 surround or better can shake the floor out from under the living room.
(...or are those just some sort of reduced-impulse/low-noise "parade charges" just for show? Kind of strange to have that many personnel all lined up to observe (civvies included) when live stuff is being flung downrange....I'm especially curious of that, as not all the guns seem pointed in the same general direction enough to do any sort of medium/long range bombardment of a single area, maybe really close in...(or out over water we don't see, just for effect?).
Come on, AE, spill it!

They are sending steel downrange, you can see the tubes recoil, albeit very slightly. Definitely a very low zone charge. Between 2:14 and 2:33 you can see the smoke and dust rising from teh impact zone. I would estimate range at somewhere between 5,000 - 7,000 meters. That extremely short range is why its noticable that all tubes are shooting a "converged sheath".
Now if you wanted to hear some shooting you should have been at Ft Bragg last night. Had a whole battalion out shooting HE under Illume!!!!! Meanwhile their sister battalion did a heavy drop, derigged and shot from teh DZ. Absolutely fecking awesome!!!!!
