The Coveted Srebrenica Medal The Dutch government plans, inexplicably, to award medals to the soldiers who pulled back from Srebrenica and left hundreds of civilians to be massacred at the hands of the Serbs.

Citations for serving, nothing more, nothing less. It was the UN that could have prevented the massacre but did nothing, the couple of hundred way too lightly armed and thinly supplied troops could do nothing to stop the Serbian armoured advance on the enclave. They couldn't even cut and run like the British did in Gorazde .
