On Friday, May 18th, NYMAS will host Prof. Francis Phillip Varney, of Cornell University, who will speak on "The Death of a City: The Athenian Destruction of Melos in 416 B.C.", one of the most notorious atrocities of the Peloponessian War.
NYMAS talks are free to the public. They are held at the CUNY Graduate Center, on Fifth Avenue, between 34th and 35th Streets, in Manhattan.
Talks begin at 7:00 pm and last about two hours. |
