There's a high chance Russia will start to use tactical nukes. Even in case of invasion from the west, there's no problem in nuking it's own territory, if it's the only chance to stop invading forces.

Also, nukes will be used to take out Carriers and, maybe, airbases to highly reduce American force projection capability.

But there's one question - if Russia is on defensive (and it's likely will be on defense due to it's weaker convential forces) and starts to use nukes on American army groups, carriers etc. BUT not on American territory... what will USA do? Answer with nuclear strike on Russian terrioty and start full-scale thermonuclear war? In any case it's suicidal for Russia and America to attack each other. High chance Russia will lose, but USA wont be a superpower anymore....

IMHO, i dont think it'll ever happen. 

 

P.S. Why, when talking about war Russia vs. Western Country(-ies) the main focus is always on it's Navy??? The fight is against former Continental Empire with the ability to take out carriers from the land (bombers with nuclear-armed cruise missiles), not against Sea Power like USA/Britain or Minor nation (Like Iraq/Iran/Vietnam etc. that just can be bombed to stone age without any ability to respond)

even though neither country could succesfully invade the other, together they could probly wipe most any other country or countries off the map.

So my question is why is there so much animosity between the two?   Why does Russia seem hell bent on supplying and strengthening China?   Is it that the two (US and RUSSIA) aren't really allies and Russia is giving China direction to do their dirty work? 

 

A fight over Russia would never be a 1v1, theres' too much anger among the former satellite states...you think a country like Georgia wouldn't jump in the fray if it saw a weakened Russia...how bout Poland, latvia, estonia or more importantly the Ukraine....

 

I still would respect the Russian military, they to me seem hardened and hardly a push over....and they've demonstrated the ability to forgo any world opinion to do what they deem necessary to win...

 

 

maybe russia is helping china to destroy the us one day...maybe not, but if the "great" United States of America cant stand up to the combined two...then it deserves it!

But Danaus, that link does not give 250 aircraft.  The only aircraft total on nationmaster for the USA is 235, and it is on a page called "Forces in EUROPE".  Where do you think the United States actually is?

look the fact about if russia and china were to go to war with america sure america would have help but right now, since america is messing up so badly in todays world by tickin off everyone else by makeing stupid decisions. would anyone ack them up? popular people create jealousy!
