President Obama orders the release of oil from Americas strategic petroleum reserve Obama has consistently opposed exploration for oil and gas in the United States since he took office. He has canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. THis will adversely affect the price of gasoline in the months ahead. In an attempt to reduce gasoline prices as the election appaoches, Obama will order the release of oil from the SPR.
