Well, Ron, I find your attitude regretable.
You do not need a university degree to get my joke. Elementary school is perfectly ok. I just made fun of benmurphey's spelling of "dessert". Was it the century's greatest joke? Hell, no. Actually it was only moderately funny. But is it a reason to be insulted?
I don't think so. I regret your attitude, because one often finds it in the military and it's not good for the service. In my time as a reservist, first as a NCO, then as a lieutenant, I found that being able to take things lightly can make a whole lot of a difference.
During my time as a drill instructor I always found that the best soldiers were those who could do their duty and still joke about it. So, anyway, let's end this chapter, the discussion is pretty pointless.
And as a final clarification:
Desert: large area made up mostly of sand, where "Shields", "Storms" and "Sabres" can take place.
Dessert: Sweet stuff you eat after dinner.
