Subject: Child Flight to acquire BA609 Tiltrotors
Volkodav    12/27/2009 1:17:46 AM
Australian Aviation Magazine reports that Child Flight is about to order BA609 Tiltrotors for aeromedical transport. If this type enters civilian service in Australia would it make it a viable COTS option to replace 173 Sqns Kingairs?

We use our King Airs for SIGINT?  I thought they were for personnel and light freight with minor (visual) surveillance chucked in?

Not saying I would object to the thought of several  MC-12's getting around with Roo's on their wings.

I'd love to know what ASA/CASA class a tiltrotor as? Also, will they be restricted to a certain class of airspace?

Curious.
