thanks for the info. and being a police officer would be an awesome career (one i might do after the military, if  i dont feel like retiring) atleast it does good to the world. im going to Idaho on July 21st to August 21st for a wilderness survival camp. they basically just drop you off in the woods with the clothes on your back and a three inch knife. its going to be interesting. im also doing NJROTC(National Junior Reserve Officer Training Program.) in High school.   And thanks for the info again.

Not at all.

Just because SAS' or Delta Force may be called up in the event of any little "fantasy" situtation doesn't mean that there the only one that is specifically trained and can carry out the mission. I agree. Comparing is rather pointless. However what gets me more is the notion and response of shouldn't you compare this SOF to this SOF. Completely pointless. Some of the things said on here, from people who look like they know what there talking about, respond that oh "SEALS" operate mainly from the SEA or they don't train in Counter Terrorism. It's completely wrong. The SEALS are doing the same work as any other SOF in AFGHAN and IRAQ. Of course they are on the ground. Conducting RECCE, Search And Destroy, And Captures. They all have the same mission. They all train for the same mission. Warefare. They all carry em out exceptionally well. Exceptionally. So this argument comparing DELTA to SAS or Seals To SBS. Seals have a far greater operational record. Compared with there force strenth and percentage of them operational and conducting operations its the HIGHEST. Because there needed. There's not as much of em. And there always involved in whatever America is doing. Not taking anything away from SBS SAS.

true. All special forces are trained in ALMOST the same way. they just fight for different causes and countries. and sorry everyone for my Biased comments on other subjects, i should probably calm down a little bit and quit exaggerating.

I'm not sure what this is in response to. However, it's hard to take someone serious who -
A) types in all caps and

B) Can't spell "Expectancy".

Navy SEALs never stop training.  Where did you get your information?  They train for only 6 weeks?  Initial training at BUD/S is 6 MONTHS!  That is their BASIC training.  You obviously have no idea what the Navy SEALs are trained to do, nor why they were commissioned in the first place, which isn't to take oil rigs from terrorists.  Not hard to find that information actually.  It would also seem you're not well versed on the SAS either.  Research before you post garbage like this, huh!

"The British SAS, man for man, is better. SEALs train for about 6 weeks or so, the SAS trains for over a year, so as far as who is better trained, it is obvious that it is the SAS. Who is better at taking as oil rig from terrorists? No question the SEALs, because that is what they are trained to do (the SAS would have to parachute in). I have heard that the SEAL's are better than the SBS, but I have no way of knowing or proving that."

Haha. Those posts were made about 3 years ago man, this thread has been on going for a little longer than that. Please don't hold those old posts against me. I actually meant BUD/S was 6 months, but typed 6 weeks (again, that was 3 years ago). This is probably the most uninformed thread on the site, we all posted crap we knew absolutely nothing about. I am waaay more informed now, but having never served in any unit...I prefer to STFU nowadays.
