Ehran, Yes, they have. Since the 1960s as a matter of fact. And in mid-1980s the first non-ex-Gurkha enlistee graduated from Sandhurst - with the Sword of Honour, I must add.

Well, there a few dozen "Gurkha" fully commissioned Queen's officers. Gurkhas also have a parallel heirarchy, which may be a bit confusing ~ since its technically not warrant officers: Jemadar (subedar-naik) = Second/Sub Lt. Subedar = Lt. Subedar Major = Capt. ... and un-officially Subedar Major (sardari) = Major (they are still subedar majors).

There is honestly no way to tell which unit (Delta or SAS) is more physically fit. This varies from soldier to soldier. Although, if I had to break it down, I would say that Delta operators are 'stronger' while SAS operators are in 'better' cardio shape. I know that is a very simple and general way to put it, but it is probably more accurate than you would think. The Brits (SAS) are in love with rucking and cardio, while just about every American serviceman (regardless of branch or mos) loves to workout and lift some heavy weight. You can see some of this by simply looking at entrance requirements (yeah, I know there are no maximums on a pft). I've been away for awhile, and have done a good bit of research on commandos and special operations, and nearly all of the Western spec ops are equal in quality...Delta, SAS, GSG9, SEALs, FFL, KSK, SF, CIA pm, SBS, etc. And to finally settle this post once and for all...who would win? I don't really know and don't care. I do know this though: They are both on the same side and the terrorists or any other entity who threatens Western civilization is going to lose, period.

Its an 'image' thing, they take to much notice of Arnie.

Thats a very good point, isn't it better to be able to cover more distance in a shorter time?

>>Thats a very good point, isn't it better to be able to cover more distance in a shorter time? << It's kind of a non-point, since show me an objective and analytical source notes that UKSF ruck further and faster than US SOF.
