Well I was trying to make a long story short. ASOT for Advanced Special Operations Techniques, MFF for Military Free Fall, UWO for Under Water Operations (scuba) Operational Detahment Alpha for ODA Comander In Extremis Force for CIF.

Sorry to get away from the subject a bit papanik1, but i always found that awkward. We never used to use all these different abbreviations, but heading over to the states, you'd get lost wondering what everyone was saying. It was always ABC this and EFG that, with a PQR here and there, bloody confusing stuff. The only thing that helps me now is my little personal dictionary I had made [a lad from Delta I believe, bought him a few rounds in return]. Anyway, sorry papanik1, continue as you were.

I'd consider discussion of ASOT at all in an open internet forum to be deep into OPSEC violation land.

Not looking for OPSEC violations Horsesoldier, I know its a sensitive subject. Although there are enough data on the web about the nature of activities. Just want to know if there are specialised ASOT detachments, and generally the kind and "mix" of current specialty Dets in a Group, although its not the same from one Group to another.
