If you were an Iraqi insurgent, who would you be more frightened of coming after you? A Marine, 82nd Airborne paratrooper, or an Army infantryman?

The Sunni Arab or the Kurd whose family I have executed while serving as an official under Saddam.

Tank, APC, CAS, Squad (or larger unit) > Kurd.

Since I'm supposedly guaranteed entry into Heaven if I am killed while fighting for Jihad I shouldn't be afraid at all now, should I.

I'm a semi-literate twit whose knowledge of the West and America is largely based on Baywatch reruns and bootleg copies of Jean Claude Van Damme movies . . . in other words, why would I even have a clue if it was marines or some flavor of army infantry coming after me? I can probably tell you Pam Anderson versus Yasmine Bleeth in a red swimsuit, but telling army from marines may be asking a bit much.

Actually I was surprised how much they knew about us. Telling US Army from USMC is trivial and easy due to the uniforms. More than that though. These guys know how to read unit shoulder patch insignia and sometimes even know approximate info on how long a particular unit has been in country, when it's replacement will arrive and possibly who it would be. Some of the more orgnanized insurgents have very good intel and are quite familiar with us after 5 years of fighting. Almost 18 years if you consider we have been fighting Iraqis since 1991 at various levels of intensity.
