In war, there are no winners, just survivors.

Russia, China, Germany, and North Korea?  Strange bed fellows!

I'm not sure of what criteria for wining or loosing would be.

But I think I'll begin studying Russian German and Korean.

If you're going to throw a war scenario, at least invite teams that would ally with each other.

US + Britain makes sense.

Japan is an ally but is constitutionally barred from deploying troops outside their borders.

Germany is constitutionally restricted like Japan and has a lot more going for it as the most powerful economy in Europe than they do fighting a war with anyone.

China and North Korea are historically tied, but don't have such a warm & fuzzy relationship these days.

Russia supports China because the Chinese are a market for arms and because it causes the US problems, not because they want China to be the most powerful nation in the world. If the Russians thought China was about to become a genuine superpower they'd be developing a lot closer ties with Europe. A big chunk of Russian territory is right below "Taiwan" on China's to-do list. Russia is gambling that they won't get past Taiwan.

Like dead languages, HIPAR? You might add English to that list.

But seriously, this is a stupid premise. The PRCs want war as much as they want to celebrate an independent Taiwan. Why would they, as a nation so close to the edge of resource collapse, risk national death in a resource wasting exercise like war? Why would the Germans join them in national suicide? Why would Russia join two of its historic enemies? Why would anybody trust the DPRK?

Why?

First of I would like to say that its a weird selection of members for both sides... if I may, I would like to say what I would have added, for instance, Germany wouldn´t team up with north Korea, but IRAN would and he is a major player in the middle East, also you left behing France who would certainly join the US in case of war, bah I suppouse they would ;) . You also left behind ISRAEL, INDIA, nahhh, your selection is fine, lets work on that.

Who would win?,
well, assuming that nuclear weapons have no saying in the conflict it would come down to plain military strenght,
the winner, as I see it would be the RUSSIAN-CHINESSE-GERMAN-NKOREAN alliance.
why?
first of all,
their army numbers are far too great for the US and his allies to control, no matter how many advanced missiles they fire upon them.
second,
the RUSSIANs and his allies also have advanced bombs and missiles, so that would tear the US and its allies a new one.

basically,
the russian, chinesse, N. Koreans, not so much germany, uses the overwhelming forces policy, a lot of troops, and I mean a lot if you add up all of theirs.

People, this is just a game, play along, of course the sides are not quite logics but it doesn´t matter, we can still share some thoughts.

well this is what I think.

Adios

WW 3 would be M.A.D., just like it was twenty years ago.

Still, war does not determine who is right, merely who is left.

Do four things.

Analyze communications land, sea, and air.
Analyze access to resources.
Analyze technology base.
Analyze competence of political leadership.

Assuming central war with national survival at stake, the US alliance handily defeats the PRC led coalition.

It comes down to LOGISTICS.

For one thing the Americans and their allies can feed and water themselves.

Under war burden, the PRCs and their stooge nations cannot., especially since that would be trhe FIRST capabilities the Americans would attack. See what the PRCs can do with their water tables and agriculture base destroyed.

This is all very interesting but I think some of us are forgetting something. And this something that is incredibly important! EXPERIENCE! Besides the the fact that U.S. technology is far superior to anything else in the world (including our allies), we have been involved in a number of wars lately that has given America unrivaled experience. I am a martial artist and I have been practicing for 17 years. Would you really want to fight against that?

Our enemies best bet would be to engage the U.S., and it's allies, in an asymmetric style war! A study was conducted a few years ago in which the military wanted to find out what techniques could defeat them. So they dug up a former high ranking official to be the "bad guy"! He was brilliant. He used a single weapons system. Cruise Missiles! Lots of them. He started by annihilating the bulk of the naval fleet by firing over 400 cruise missiles. The rest is classified im sure!
