Gentlemen and Ladies Allow me to introduce myself. seydlitz89 of abuzz, amazon and sonshi. . . Very much a student of the masters Clausewitz and Max Weber, Western Rationalism if you will. A humble student of strategic thought/art and theory, Weberian sociology and life. Groping for a difficult truth in a world full of smoke- and noise-filled confusion.

so the question is. . . what would be a crediable application of the theories of Carl von Clausewitz to the current "Global War on Terrorism"? GWOT being the official name of this conflict which of course includes the current military operations in Iraq. . . since that is the name (plus "Expeditionary") of the campaign medal that US troops are issued for service in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

In "Blitzkrieg" strategic reserves is thrown in the beginning of battle very cruelly and rudely. (Regardless of what the conditions are.) Advantages: the enemy is terrified and broken. The reason: they are not honored as enemies and they feel themselves inferior. They will be afraid and their minds do not see the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRENGHT AND CRUELTY. The enemy loses momentum, there is time to negotiate and the public gets accustomed to the new situation. (I call it "rape technique", because handles the enemy's public as a raped woman, forced to oblige by brutality. This conception is not Clausewitzian. "Guys, this was your max strenght ?"
