Subject: What organization representing the Youths will france surrender too?
Claymore    11/5/2006 9:38:18 PM
Symbols of the French state, including policemen, firemen and postmen, are under intensified attack from disaffected youths as the country faces the worst race relations crisis in its history. Hardly a night passes without gangs — many of them from immigrant families — attacking police cars, buses and emergency rescue teams. Yesterday, the weekly magazine Le Nouvel Observateur published a confidential report drawn up by a public service trade union, the CGT, containing scores of eye-witness accounts of brutal attacks on public servants who work in the worst suburbs, or “banlieues”, from gas board workers to staff from the electricity company. Its publication follows the revelation that attacks on police have soared this year, with some 14 a day, and a growing number of incidents in which officers have been lured into ambushes. This has prompted a warning that the day France witnesses the lynching of a policeman is not far off. The CGT report painted a graphic picture of violence: blocks of cement dropped on paramedic crews; washing machines pushed off balconies on to fire engines; electricity company agents too scared to cut off customers who have not paid bills, after being attacked with knives, guns and fists. ============================ France obviously does not want to stand up and fight for anything. They have do first call these people out for what they are, not "youths". Freedom starts with reconizing and admitting harsh realities and confronting them.

How about teenagers? Or 15 to 25 year olds?

Oh I get it now! It's a joke - "who are the French going to surrender to now? The French!"

LOL, very witty!

Nothing funny about this. The US went through something ugly like this in the 1960s. It flares up from time to time down to the the present. It is still a clear and present danger in many nations with alienated and non-assimilated populations.

To be fair in comment, the French seem unusually astonished that they would have this problem, just like anybody else.

Hope they find a better solution than some have.

I find it a bit funny one of the most progessive and PC countries in the world can have this problem. How did the enlightened people not see this comming? Could multiculturalism be a failer?

Claymore, in your blind hatred towards France you neglect to notice that multiculturalism is the British problem, not that of France. France has never had a policy of multiculturalism. What it does have is high-ish numbers of unemployed people concentrated in certain areas - obviously not a good thing.. Not that you'd bother to start pathetic threads about Britian's numerous multicultural problems.

To be fair;

The reports I read indicate unemployed Algerian ancestry origin males between 16 and 30 are the rioters.

In the US example I gave, the usual rioters were/are unemployed African American or Latino males between 16 and 30.

Unassimilated means what it means.

No disrespect intended.

"You forgot Muslim rioters who tortured a poor jewish boy."

Claymore, surely you mean the CRIMINALS who tortured the boy? The CRIMINALS that were hunted down and are being tried as we speak? Why would you refer to them as "muslim rioters"?  Do you know something no one else knows? Have you proof that they were rioting at any time? I ask because I'm sure the prosecuters would like to know.

Hey Claymore! Did you know that 40-50 attacks on ambulance, fire and police services take place every week in the UK - some EVEN in areas with a high number of "youths" - how come you don't bother posting about that? Oh, yes, what the Washington Post and Fox don't bother reporting you don't care about, right?
