Herald,

Sorry i'm a bit late, happy new year to you too, best wishes for 2009 (and beyond of course)

Sofa,

You're an idiot. Where did you get your facts??
Let me quote sarkozy:
" The Hamas, by breaking the truce, acted in a very irresponsible and unforgivable way". Yeah that's definitly siding with Hamas.
And it's his job to condemn the war, you can't just close your eyes on 575 civilians killed and almost 3000 wounded (and they're not Hamas).

Sofa,

This is useless and stupid bashing. Be documented before you quote....

Sarkozy made it clear about the Hamas responsibilities...

I personnaly think that Hamas deserves to be kicked seriously in the ass...

That does not mean that schools can be bombed, and ambulances can be destroyed.

And "Meilleurs Voeux à Herald "

Perhaps you missed the AP admission of guilt on HAMAS using the UN-School as a point to fire from? ANY AND ALL casualties caused to civilians are SOLELY the responsibility of those using such points as military sites - that is incontrovertible according to the Geneva Protocols, to which I have written about extensively in prior years on these pages.

As has been WELL-DOCUMENTED EXCEPT in the European press, schools and ambulances can DAMN well  be bombed, as military targets, when they are used to transport terrorists, or used as sites to store weapons and used as firing points.

Via Gateway Pundit, the IDF Spokesperson blog says two Hamas jihadis are dead at the school and a missile launcher with anti-tank missiles was recovered. Watch the media focus shift effortlessly now to ?proportionality.? A belated exit question: What was the UN official doing there with Hamas gunmen firing off rockets?

AP retraction:

AP comes clean, corroborates IDF's position on Hamas attacking IDF soldiers from UN school.

Israel shells near UN school, killing at least 30
By IBRAHIM BARZAK and STEVE WEIZMAN, Associated Press Writers

?

The Israeli army said its soldiers came under fire from militants hiding in the school and responded. It accused Gaza's Hamas rulers of "cynically" using civilians as human shields. Residents confirmed the account, saying militants were seen staging attacks from the area.

...

The army said two Hamas militants — Imad Abu Askar and Hasan Abu Askar — were among the dead.

Two neighborhood residents confirmed the Israeli account, saying a group of militants fired mortars from a street near the school, then fled into a crowd of people in the streets. Israel then opened fire.

The residents, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared for their safety, said the Abu Askar brothers were known low-level Hamas militants.

And just so you know, charges about israeli warcrimes are BOGUS, since Israel - and the United States - were NOT signatories to the 1977 Geneva Protocols I, which essentially made it a crime to say "BOO" to a terrorist.

UN Schools Notorious for Shielding Terrorists

Middle East | Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 10:55:46 am PST

As the world screams about the UN school incident in Gaza, here?s a reminder of what goes on at these places: EXCLUSIVE-Gaza headmaster was Islamic Jihad ?rocket-maker?.

RAFAH, Gaza Strip, May 5 (Reuters) - By day, Awad al-Qiq was a respected science teacher and headmaster at a United Nations school in the Gaza Strip. By night, Palestinian militants say, he built rockets for Islamic Jihad.

The Israeli air strike that killed the 33-year-old last week also laid bare his apparent double life and embarrassed a U.N. agency which has long had to rebuff Israeli accusations that it has aided and abetted guerrillas fighting the Jewish state.

In interviews with Reuters, students and colleagues, as well as U.N. officials, denied any knowledge of Qiq?s work with explosives. And his family denied he had any militant links at all, despite a profusion of Islami
