Dear fellow SP posters and members You may be interested in this new association which is just starting up. Its aims are: "To campaign for sufficient, appropriate and fully funded Armed Forces that the Nation needs to defend effectively the Country, its people, their security and viatl interests at home and worldwide." The website - - provides further information on the organisation. Col Bob Stewart is one of a number of "names" who've joined. Membership is all of twelve quid per annum.

If you are planning to live longer than eight years then a lifetime subscription of £100 is a good gamble.

just curious... what does said subscription get you? i'm not trying to sound shallow asking if there are any freebies, but what does coughing up some pounds ster' entitle you to (other than knowing you've contributed to an org' advocating the improvement of british forces?)

I would guess that lobbying is an expensive business. All those press releases, booking somewhere to hold press conferences, brown envelopes in exchange for questions in parliament ...maybe not required for this cause.
