The autonomous return when signal is lost could easily get someone killed, if it gets followed back by an enemy drone, or if its carrying armed explosives. In some cases the DJI drones drop the bomb by using a heating filament wrapped around a piece of fishing line suspending an armed bomb. The filament is wired to the drones lights and can be activated by a light activation switch on the remote. The drones have to be suspended to launch to avoid exploding. The often launch by setting it on an open box or from a board out a second story window.
